I think that we are taking real steps towards the “New Normal” for most of medical Practice.
Much more consulting than previously is going to be remote, and usually by phone.
At present we are not sure when we can reliably book face to face, ‘proper’ consultations. However, I am discovering that provided we can spend 45 mins talking together we can cover a lot of preliminary ground, and can usually make a good plan for the future.
The laboratories in Wimpole Street where we do the extra specialised tests for DNA fragmentation and oxidative stress measurements are now open, and taking a (reduced) number of bookings.
So I suggest that rather than waiting for a ‘face to face’ appointment, which maybe 2 or 3 weeks away, phone consultations are booked via Alison (Alison.Lenny@hcahealthcare.co.uk) so that we can choose and plan the right tests, and hopefully be able to meet properly when the results are available.
In the meantime, there is some good news about: I have had emails from several couples who were waiting for delayed cycles who have now conceived naturally. This is not any kind of “evidence”, but it just could be that biology has responded positively to a little enforced relaxation.
So, stay well, and I look forward to planning your treatments, probably on the phone, and then meeting you, as soon as we are able to do so safely.
