During this week, Fertility Units are planning how to reopen safely. Operational plans will be discussed with the HFEA. Start times may be different for individual clinics, and are probably 2 or 3 weeks away for most.

Investigations in Laboratories other than those embedded in fertility units may be available a little earlier.

The operational processes particularly for semen analysis, will require careful planning to protect both the patients and the staff. The number of tests per day will be fewer, and the operating policies for each laboratory will be radically modified.

As soon as we have more clarity about facilities in London, we will update this site, later in the week.

Male Fertility procedures and Sperm Retrieval operations are probably 3 or 4 weeks away. We will have to arrange preoperative testing for all patients, and of course be confident that the faculties are not required by more urgent cases.

So we will update, as soon as there is more clarity, but at least the waiting is coming to an end.

I hope that you all stay well…. and for the time being stay home and optimistic!
